A few tech LOLS made their mark on April Fool’s Day, led by a YouTube clip that took readers back in time with the “top five viral pictures of 1911.”
Canada’s Research in Motion was reported by Zdnet to be launching a ‘screenless’ Blackerry, which allowed people to text through their trousers. “The whole touchscreen thing is a fad. In fact, the whole screen thing is a fad,” RIM designer Elliot Pouce was quoted as saying in zdnet.com.au.
And Avril Primoris communications fellow Scott Bridges told his readers on the ABC’s Drum site that Twitter might be on its way to charge on a per tweet basis, and indeed “dramatically alter” the charge down the track.
“Even at a likely cost of a tiny fraction of a cent per tweet, it’s stunning stuff, when you think about it, and a move that would undoubtedly change the very way we use social media and other online communications services,” he wrote.
“Everyone expects Twitter to make money somehow, but few would have predicted that they’d charge users directly.”
