There have been a variety of movie apps on the App Store for a while now, with most of them showing off session times and locations. But until now Hoyts hasn’t released its own.

This official app searches for nearby cinemas in your area, and provides you session times for all the films showing that day.

Once you pick a film you want, you can then buy tickets from within the app itself, and choose where you want to sit.

The app, which is free, also allows you to log in with your membership details, and keeps a record of all the receipts. You don’t need to print out tickets, simply scan the barcode at the cinema.
These types of official apps have been available in other countries for years. It’s good to see Australian entertainment groups are catching up.
