Apple will update iTunes with the software’s upcoming release, with the program to be rebuilt from the ground up, according to new reports.

Software engineers have been calling for iTunes to be rebuilt for years, with Microsoft software developers in particular criticising the program for being too clunky and drawing too many resources.

According to the iDownloadBlog, iTunes will feature a new interface, and will be more heavily integrated with both the iTunes Store and the upcoming iCloud suite.

The new software will also feature iCloud Backups, meaning that when users backup their phones and data on iCloud, this will be integrated with the iTunes software.
