Samsung has revealed that the electronics giant will be suing Apple for patent infringement. In a motion filed by the company on Friday, Samsung claims that Apple’s iPhone and iPad products infringe on seven patents “related to wireless communications”, according to Bloomberg.
The official claim filed by Samsung accuses Apple of patent infringement and demands that Apple’s claims against Samsung, in relation to their controversial Galaxy Tab, be dismissed by the court.
However, a patents expert who spoke to ITNews.com.au claims the patents its case relies on are not specific enough.
“It’s highly problematic, and utterly desperate, to try to use such patents as a retaliatory arsenal. It
shows that Samsung is unable to counter Apple’s claims appropriately,” said Florian Mueller.
This cross claim comes after Apple won a court ruling in Germany which has blocked the Galaxy Tab sales nationwide.
