File-sharing service Dropbox has raised $US250 million in a new round of funding that reportedly values the company at $US4 billion.
In a statement on its website, Dropbox also announced that more than 45 million users are now saving one billion files every three days.
The new round of funding was led by Index Ventures, with a number of others participating including Benchmark Capital, Goldman Sachs, Greylock Partners, RT Capital Partners, Institutional Venture Partners and Valiant Capital Partners, while existing investors also invested as well.
“We’re inspired by the consumers and businesses who depend on Dropbox, and we will continue to make sure that the world’s devices, services, and apps work together seamlessly,” co-founder and chief executive Drew Houston said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have such world-class investors joining forces with us.”
According to a report in TechCrunch, the funding now values the company at $US4 billion.
