Apple reportedly finalises Israeli acquisition

Apple has reportedly finalised its acquisition of Israeli flash memory firm Anobit in a deal worth a supposed $US500 million.

The report comes weeks after a separate publication indicated the two companies were working on a deal.

According to the Hebrew-language financial publication Calcalist, a deal has been made between the two companies after several weeks of negotiations.

According to the company’s website, Anobit “significantly improves endurance, performance and cost of flash storage products and systems”.

If the deal is to go ahead, it would be unusual as Apple usually buys software firms instead of hardware manufacturers.
