The 2012 MobileWorld smartphone trade show is underway in Barcelona, with quad-core and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices the key attractions this year.
CNet reports that HTC, LG and Huawei have all unveiled quad-core handsets at the show. These include the One-X from HTC, Huawei’s Ascend D Quad, and the LG Optimus 4X HD.
The show also included the debut of a number of slower dual-core handsets running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, including Huawei’s Ascend D1.
Also on display the show is Samsung Galaxy beam, which features a built-in projector, and the LG Optimus Vu, which aims to compete with Samsung’s stylus-driven Galaxy Note.
