The rise of the smartphone has seen the creation of a generation of devices that can do everything – play music, take photos, surf the web, send and receive email and, of course, make and take calls.
But with functionality comes complexity. If you’re hankering for a device that does one thing very well, the Peek might be for you.
Peek’s creators say it’s the world’s first device designed for and dedicated to mobile email. It features a large colour display and full keypad and can be used to access up to three email accounts.
To get the Peek, which is only available in the US, you don’t have to sign up to a phone provider and go on a lengthy and expensive contract. Just buy the handset for $US99.95 and pay $19.95 a month for unlimited emails.
There are already several websites popping up put together by Peek enthusiasts – a sure sign of a developing cult following.
