Samsung has unveiled the opening date of its Australian flagship store in Sydney, to be operated by Allphones’ parent company AMT Group, while a video has emerged showing Android 4.1 Jellybean running on a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone.
SmartCompany recently reported Samsung announcement that it would open its flagship Australian store at 450 George Street in Sydney, just down the road from Apple’s Australian flagship store at 367 George Street.
Since then, Ausdroid has reported August 22 as the official opening date of the Sydney store.
The store is to be the first of many planned by Samsung according to a job advertisement on Seek, which reads:
“Australian Retail Management Services Pty Limited (ARMS) has teamed up with Samsung to open and manage a number of new stores in Australia. We currently have full-time customer service and sales opportunities available in our brand new Samsung store located in Sydney CBD.”
Australian Retail Management Services is a subsidiary of Australasian Mobile Telecommunications Group (AMT Group), which is best known as the parent company of the Allphones franchise.
The news emerged on the same day a video surfaced on a Spanish-language Android site, AndroidMX, reportedly showing Android 4.1 Jellybean running on a Samsung Galaxy S3. The video is attached below:
