BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) has released a multi-platform version of its BlackBerry Mobile Fusion Enterprise Server that supports Apple iOS and Android, as well as the company’s own devices.
Once a market leader in mobile devices for the government and enterprise sector, RIM has struggled in recent years as demand for Apple and Android devices has surged.
According to MobileSyrup the company hopes to reverse its fortunes by supporting competing mobile platforms and enterprises running multi-platform environments.
The news comes less than a week after RIM’s former CEO stepped down from the company board following a disappointing Q4 result.
