Actor Bruce Willis is considering suing Apple over a clause in its terms of service preventing users from transferring digital downloads.

Last week, SmartCompany reported that users who download digital content from Apple iTunes or Amazon might not have the right to bequeath those downloads after their death as they can with physical media, due to a “non-transferrable licence clause” in the digital download service’s End User Licence Agreements (EULAs).

According to The Guardian, the Die Hard star (who also had a short career as a pop singer) is concerned his three daughters won’t be able to legally inherit his large music collection, and is considering taking Apple to court in a test case over the issue.

Willis’ lawyers are also considering setting up “family trusts” to act as legal holders of his extensive MP3 collection.
