Mobelux, the developer of mobile content viewer Instapaper, claims that the new tablet has boosted its Android tablet app sales by 600%, in another sign of the growing market power of the new tablet.

According to PCWorld, within one week of the tablet’s release, 15.58% of the company’s downloads were coming from Nexus 7 tablets, beating a range of established android devices, including Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note tablet and Galaxy S3 smartphone.

The company also reports that 70% of its Android downloads are coming from Ice Cream Sandwich or Jellybean users.

The news follows recent reports of several major US retailers, including Walmart-owned Sam’s Club, selling out of the recently released seven-inch tablets.
