At least two online retailers have begun selling Asus’ Transformer Infinity TF700T Android tablets more than a week ahead of its official Australian release, claiming to have stock ready for delivery as of today.

According to ComputerWorld, the new Asus tablet is scheduled for an official Australian release on Wednesday, August 8th.

Despite the release being more than a week away, online retailers Digital Star and MobiCity have begun taking orders for the quad-core tablets.

The Transformer Infinity is the latest in Asus’ Transformer series of Android tablets, which include a laptop-style keyboard dock.

The news comes as traditional electronics retailers, including Harvey Norman and Dick Smith Electronics, are increasingly struggling to compete against online electronics retailers.
