Samsung has begun rolling out a software update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Galaxy S2 customers in the US.
PhoneArena reports that the update is now available on unlocked Galaxy S2 handsets, following a similar rollout in Europe and Korea in March.
The rollout comes after Sony announced a similar update for its Xperia customers in Europe.
Prior to the rollouts, Ice Cream Sandwich was installed on just 2.4% of Android devices worldwide. However, this figure is likely to rise as updates and new devices are rolled out.
The news highlights the growing need for Australian SMEs to test that their Android apps are fully compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich.
