Social networking platform Twitter has just reached its sixth birthday, the company announced, with more than 140 million active users and 340 million tweets made every day.
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey made his first post on the service six years ago today. Since that time, more than 532 million accounts have been registered.
On its official blog, Twitter said the company now records an average of 340 million tweets per day.
“Six years may not be very long in human terms, but it’s been quite an enormous span for the thing we know and love as Twitter,” the company said on its blog.
