Website owners who use the WordPress content management system can now create posts within Microsoft’s Office 365, allowing new posts to be created from a device that’s in flight mode.

To take advantage of the integration, WordPress users need to install a plugin called OneNote Publisher. Full installation and setup instructions are available on this page.

Once the plugin is set up, when a user adds a new post, a new purple button will appear on the new posts page with the Office 365 OneNote icon. Clicking this button will bring up a list of the OneNote documents a user has recently saved.

Once a OneNote document has been selected, all the images and text it contains will be imported into WordPress, ready to publish.

Because the One Note app allows documents to be edited offline or while in flight mode, it means website owners will be able to edit new posts for their sites during flights or while they’re offline, and then post them in WordPress later once they have access to the internet.

The new plugin is the latest in a string of new integrations between Microsoft products and third-party platforms under chief executive Satya Nadella.
