Another word for these time out tactics (as mentioned in Aunty B) is ‘procrastination’! Confronted by anything we don’t fancy facing or doing we postpone it, usually with something that can be classed as urgent and keeps us suitably busy away from the front where actions based on hard-to-make decisions are required ~ I guess getting us to focus on what we do that is the time waster is the first step in acknowledging we have the problem… But what may be more interesting would be what tactics do people take to counteract their creative avoidance?
